YOUTH & CHILDREN

Children and youth  are a vital part of PFUMC. By engaging even the youngest of our children and their families, we believe that kids can grow up to love God, love each other and change the World. We provide fun opportunities each Sunday morning during the school year to spark curiosity in the hearts and minds of kids and young adults, challenging them to explore God’s world.

We examine themes from creation, justice, friendship, love, joy, and the list goes on.

Senior High Youth

Our Senior High Youth are active in shining the light of Christ all around the community. They have plenty of opportunities to grow and share through Bible lessons, events, Field Trips, missions and games. Examples of past events include slip and slide kick Ball, 5th quarter fellowship and Hungry for Hope where the youth raised over $700 for Skyline Urban Ministries. They also attend camps and retreats during the summer, where they have the opportunity to deepen their faith and invest in their relationship with Jesus.

The youth room is a place where youth can escape the stressors of the world and engage in positive Christian Fellowship.

Tweens & Mid High Youth

United Methodist Youth Fellowship or UMYF is a great way to meet friends, grow in your faith and to experience what it is like to be a part of a church family! This program is geared mostly towards fellowship. It’s a laid-back kind of time where we learn about God together, invest in our relationships with each other, and best of all play some awesome games!

Piedmont First United Methodist Fine Arts Studio

We believe God asks us to be good stewards of the gifts He has given us. This means we learn about our talents, how to take care of our bodies as instruments and how to use them in a positive way. We hope to supplement arts education provided in the public schools and encourage children and youth to explore the fine arts as a means of expression and worship.

We offer the following options for classes and lessons and are continually adding to our list.
We partner with community theatres in the OKC metro area to engage students who wish to be more involved than the scope of our studio allows.
  • Private Music Lessons (Grades K-2)
  • Private Voice Lessons (Grades 3 and up)
  • Private Acting Lessons (Grades 3 and up)
  • Kindermusik Parent & Child Music Classes (Ages 0-5)
  • How Great Thou Art Classes (Grades K-4)
  • Sing Joy! Musical Theatre Camp (Grades K-6)
  • Theatre Arts Classes (Grades K-6)
  • Music Theatre Classes (Grades K-6)
  • Teen Acting Class (Grades 7-12)
  • Adult/Teen Public Speaking Class (Grades 9 and up)
